Hidden Text: This is invisible text found on a website that a human user can't see but the serach engines are able torecognize. Hit: A hit is request for a file (graphics image, text file, html page, etc) from a Web server. Home page: This is the initial page on a website that most people visit. It is typically called the index file. Host: This is a computer on a network with a unique IP address, that is able to connect the other computers on the network together. House Ad: This is an advertisement that is run internally on a website. HTML: HTML sands for HyperText Markup Language. This is the simplest programming language that people use to develop their website. Hypertext: Hypertext is text that contains a link to other documents or files.
Impression: An impression is a display of an online banner on a website. An Impression is also sometimes called an ad view. Inbound Link: This is a link from an external website to another website. They help in determining how "popular" a website is. Instant Messaging: Instant Messaging or IM is a communication program that allows a user to send a message that immediately is displayed on an online friend's or collague's computer. Internet Service Provider: An ISP is a company that provides access to the Internet. Inventory: Awebsite's inventory is the amount of ad space available for sale. IVR: IVR stands for Interactive Voice Response. It is call center phone equipment which permits inbound callers to choose their own options for the call.
JavaScript: This is a scripting language that is used to run small programs on websites.. JPEG: This is a type of graphic file which is capable of displaying images with millions of colors. JPEG images use a superiod compression algorythm with makes them very popular.
