Search Engine: Is a software program that reviews webpages and documents then matches its data to user's search queries.

Search Engine Optimization: Is the Internet marketing process of designing a website to place high in the listings on specific targeted Web queries.

SEM: Stands for Search Engine Marketing. This is a e-commerce process of buying ads so a website apprears under pre-choose keywords.

Shopping Cart: An e-commerce program that lets a user select multiple products to purchase at the same time.

Spam: Email that is sent intentionally to possible consumers who have not requested it.

Splash Page: This is the initial page that a user sees on a website.

Spider: A software program that searches websites and reports the data back to a central database.

Stickiness: Is an important measurment of the website's effectiveness to make a customer return to the site at a later date.

Title Tag: This is a HTML descriptive tag used by search engines to name the website.

Traffic: Traffic is simply the measurement of visitors who go to a website.

Up Selling: Encouraging a customer to buy additional products that they were not planning on purchasing originally.

URL: Stands for Uniform Resource Locator. This is also called the domain name.
